About this job
Bosch Global Software Technologies is hiring a Senior Java Backend Engineer in Bengaluru to design and build microservices on a modern stack: Java 17 and 21, Spring Boot 3, Quarkus, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Elasticsearch and Redis, deployed with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm and ArgoCD.
This is a senior individual-contributor role. You will set service boundaries, lead event-driven design (schema evolution, idempotency, dead-letter handling), write architecture decision records, and own performance from SQL tuning to caching and JVM settings. The posting asks for 8+ years with clear ownership of non-trivial systems.
Eligibility
- 8+ years of backend engineering with ownership of non-trivial systems
- Modern Java (records, sealed classes, virtual threads) and Spring Boot 3 or Quarkus
- Kafka, PostgreSQL, Redis and Elasticsearch in production
- Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps)

What you will do
- Design microservices and decide between microservices and modular monoliths
- Lead event-driven designs and document decisions as ADRs
- Own performance: queries, caching, connection pools, JVM tuning
- Build quality gates with JUnit 5, Testcontainers and contract tests
