TCS iON NQT November 2026: test on 24 Nov, apply by 12 Nov

TCS iON has opened registration for the November round of its National Qualifier Test (NQT). Many companies accept the NQT score when they shortlist freshers for entry-level roles.

Pre-final and final year students of any stream or degree
Graduates who pass out between 2022 and 2028 and are looking for a job
Working professionals with up to 2 years of experience

Which test to choose

TCS iON offers several versions of the test. The two that matter most for IT job seekers are:

NQT – Cognitive: numerical, reasoning and verbal ability. It is used for entry-level IT and non-IT roles. The fee is ₹599, including taxes.
NQT – IT: adds coding and advanced aptitude to the cognitive sections. TCS iON says it is aimed at IT roles paying 3 to 8 LPA. The fee is ₹999, including taxes.

There are also non-tech and banking (BFSI) versions, and "prep pack" bundles that add practice tests and courses for a higher fee. If you want a software job, the IT version gives recruiters the most useful picture of your skills.

How the score helps

Your scorecard is valid for 2 years and shows how you did in each section.
TCS iON says the score is accepted by 4,000+ companies, and it lists more than 1.6 lakh IT and non-IT jobs on its platform.
You can retake the test to improve your score, since TCS iON allows unlimited attempts.

Important: the test is not a job offer

The NQT is a paid skills test, not a recruitment fee. A good score helps you get shortlisted, but the job offer comes only after each company's own interview. Pay only on the official TCS iON website. Never pay anyone who claims they can get you a job or a better score for money.

How to prepare

Practise aptitude every day: percentages, ratios, time and work, and number series come up often.
For the IT test, solve easy to medium coding problems in one language you know well, such as Java, Python or C++.
